JOB DESCRIPTION
You will deploy, maintain, and retrieve monitoring equipment at active NYC construction sites. Working closely with our licensed PE and reporting team, you will ensure all instruments are correctly installed, calibrated, and recording data in line with project monitoring plans.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install and configure Instantel MiniMate Plus seismographs at neighboring structures per the approved monitoring plan.
- Conduct weekly site visits to inspect equipment, download event data, and confirm instruments are functioning correctly.
- Document installation locations with photographs and written notes for inclusion in PE-certified reports.
- Report any equipment faults, threshold exceedances, or site access issues to the supervising PE immediately.
- Assist with pre-construction crack surveys by photographing and recording existing defects at adjacent structures.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience working on active NYC construction sites with a valid OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Familiarity with vibration monitoring equipment or geotechnical instrumentation is a strong advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret site plans, exposure drawings, and monitoring plan documentation.
- Strong attention to detail, reliable time management, and ability to work independently in the field.
- Valid New York State driver's license and ability to travel to multiple Brooklyn and NYC project sites.

Monitoring Report Technician
Support Liberty Inspection Corp’s reporting operations by compiling, formatting, and quality-checking weekly monitoring reports submitted to the NYC Department of Buildings teams.
JOB DESCRIPTION
You will work directly with our licensed PE to prepare weekly vibration, and crack monitoring reports. You will download and process Instantel event data, compile readings into report templates, and ensure documentation meets NYC DOB submission standards prior to sign-offs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Download and securely organize Instantel seismograph event data following each monitoring cycle for active projects.
- Compile peak particle velocity readings, frequency data, and event charts into the weekly report templates flawlessly.
- Format optical monitoring settlement tables and crack gauge reading logs for inclusion in formal reports.
- Coordinate with field techs to confirm that site visit data is received and correctly recorded each cycle.
- Maintain properly organized project archives of reports, event files, and correspondence for regulatory reference.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong proficiency in Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat for document preparation and formatting work.
- Experience in a technical, engineering, or construction administration environment is a strong plus.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple active project files without any error.

Survey & Optical Monitor

JOB DESCRIPTION
You will perform optical monitoring surveys at project sites using high-precision electronic total stations. Working from certified baselines, you will measure and record three-dimensional coordinate data across monitoring points and identify movement exceeding any allowable thresholds.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up and operate electronic total station equipment to take accurate optical monitoring readings at project sites.
- Record north, east, and vertical axis coordinate data at every monitoring point and compare to certified baselines.
- Install and inspect reflective prism targets on building facades across all required exposure locations.
- Identify and report readings approaching or exceeding allowable movement thresholds to the supervising PE.
- Document all the survey activities with field notes and photos for inclusion in PE-certified monitoring reports.
REQUIREMENTS:

JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Junior Field Inspector, you will shadow and assist our senior monitoring technicians and PE across active project sites. You will learn to install and service monitoring equipment, conduct pre-construction surveys, record field data, and support production of PE-certified reports.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist senior technicians with the exact installation and servicing of vibration monitors and crack gauge equipment.
- Support pre-construction condition surveys by photographing and fully documenting existing cracks and building defects.
- Record field observations, equipment readings, and site access notes during every scheduled site visit.
- Transport and manage monitoring equipment between project sites safely and per strict handling procedures.
- Complete all assigned training modules on NYC DOB compliance, USBM RI 8507 standards, and monitoring protocols.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A background or active interest in construction, civil engineering, or building code is preferred.
- OSHA 10 certification or willingness to obtain prior to first site deployment at a Liberty project.
- Physically capable of working in active construction environments like basements and scaffolding.
- Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated with a willingness to learn monitoring procedures completely.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Schedule and coordinate field technician visits across all active vibration, optical, and crack monitoring projects.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for general contractors and property owners throughout monitoring engagements.

JOB DESCRIPTION
You will process and analyze raw vibration event files, optical coordinate data, and crack gauge measurements from multiple active project sites. Working alongside our licensed PE, you will identify trends, flag threshold approaches, and produce the data tables for our certified reports.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process Instantel seismograph event files and extract peak particle velocity and frequency data for all local sites.
- Compile optical settlement coordinate readings and accurately calculate delta values against baseline measurements.
- Produce data tables, trend charts, and compliance summaries formatted for inclusion in certified reports.
- Monitor active project datasets for readings approaching USBM or OSMRE thresholds and escalate promptly.
- Maintain clean, well-organized data archives for all active and completed projects in accordance with DOB rules.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, charting, and pivot table is key.
- Background in civil engineering, geotechnical monitoring, or construction data management preferred.
